How to take training attendance.
Training Logs can be added via the Training tab in the blue ribbon at the top of the page.
Move your cursor over <<Training>> and you’ll see a drop-down menu with options <<Mark Training Logs Complete>>, <<Training Logs>>, and <<Curriculum>>. Select <<Mark Training Logs Complete>>
You will be directed to a page titled “New Training” and you will be able to select the trainings completed and the caregivers who completed those trainings. The fields that must be filled out are “Training Title”, “Date of Training”, and “Name of Caregiver”.
*Note: you can log training hours for multiple caregivers at a time. You can also take attendance for multiple trainings at once.
How can I edit the CPR due date for an applicant?
The CPR due date cannot be edited manually.
The CPR due date will update automatically once the CPR training is logged.
Immediately after logging the applicant's completed training, you should see their logged CPR training in the Complete tab.
You'll also see a new CPR training in the Incomplete tab, with a due date based on the expiration date of the of the completed training.
The training hours column in the dashboard shows a (?) for the applicant(s). How do I fix this so it shows the correct required hours?
Each applicant must be assigned a training track. The training track dictates how many training hours an applicant will be required to complete. If an applicant is not assigned a training track, our system will not know how many hours are required, and will show you a (?) in the training hours column in the dashboard.
To update the training track and remove the (?) symbol, you'll just need to go into <Edit Application>, and make sure to choose one of the available training tracks in the drop-down menu for each applicant. Once that's selected, scroll down to Update Application, and when you head back over to the dashboard, the training hours will no longer show you the (?), and will be able to calculate how many hours are required of the applicant(s).
Waiving incomplete training hours
You are able to waive incomplete training hours if the applicant does not have to complete them. Waiving training hours will remove them from the requirement on the application dashboard + progress bar.
First, you'll need to head over to the Training Logs for the family - the easiest way to do this is to pull up the family in the Applications Dashboard, and click on the hyperlink that shows their incomplete hours:

Click into the Incomplete tab to see what's missing in the applicant's training logs. From there, click on the Waive link for the training that is no longer required.
When selecting waive for a training, the training waive date needs to be before the due date and close to the date that the trainings are due. For example, if a training has a due date of 11/20/2020, the waive date could be 11/19/20. An appropriate date for the waiver will auto-populate for this reason.

How do training hours appear in the Dashboard?
There are two dashboard views that show training hours: the Applying tab, and the In Renewal Process tab. Please select the dashboard below:
Applying tab
The Dashboard in the Applying tab combines the total number of hours required for pre-approval trainings and CPR. The Green check mark indicates that all pre-approval training hours have been logged in Binti. The fractions below show the number of hours required for 2 applicants where 0 represents the number completed, and 24 represents the number required. Clicking the check mark, or the fraction will take you to the applicant’s training log.
In Renewal Process Tab
The Dashboard in the In Renewal Process tab starts tracking all required renewal training hours immediately after the Initial Application is approved. Here you will see that the Training Hours column and the CPR due date column are separate.
- The Training Hours column breaks each year’s training requirements into separate fractions. In the image below the trainings for 2020 are noted “overdue”, and the trainings for 2021 are noted “due”. Anytime there are “overdue” trainings in a case, the column will turn red; if it is only noted “due” in the upcoming year, you will not be prevented from approving the renewal if it is time to approve. If all trainings “overdue” and “due” are entered in the Training Logs, a green check mark will appear indicating that there are no trainings due in the next 12 months. You can click into the Training Logs by clicking the hyperlinked notes below the fraction in the Training Hours column.
- The CPR due date column will be red if the CPR still hasn’t been entered post-approval, and if the existing CPR is expired, and yellow if the expiration date is within 30 days. The date showing in this column is the expiration / due date of the applicant’s CPR. If you click the hyperlink to the CPR requirement, it will also take you to the Training Logs to enter the CPR in the same way a training can be entered. How do I enter training hours in Binti?
There are a couple of ways to enter training hours into Binti. Please click the options below. Note that any training hours you enter will automatically be applied to the most overdue requirement first. So if you attempt to enter the current year's hours without completing or waiving the previous years hours first, the entry for the current year's trainings will go to the overdue requirement by default. Learn more by clicking here.
Training tab in Blue Ribbon
Trainings can be entered via the Training tab in the blue ribbon at the top of the page.
Move your cursor over "Training" and you’ll see a drop-down menu with the options, Mark Training Complete, Training Logs, and Curriculum. Select Mark Training Complete.
You will be directed to a page titled “Mark Training Complete” (see screenshot below) and you will be able to select the Training Type/Title completed and the caregivers who completed those trainings. The fields that must be filled out are “Training Type/Title”, “Training Date”, "Custom Training Title", "Number of Hours", and "Caregiver name".
You can take attendance for multiple different trainings and log training hours for multiple caregivers at a time by clicking Add Training or Add Caregiver. Click Submit to enter the hours.
Applicant Training Logs
Locate the application that you want to log trainings for in the applications dashboard, and click the hyperlinked training hours to take you straight into the Applicant's Training logs. If you are already in the application, click Training Logs.

Initial Application Training Log
This is an example of how your Applicant's Training Logs would look prior to the Initial Application being approved. The numbers indicated in the screenshot are described below. (Click here for an example of the Renewal Application Training Log.)
1) Trainings are separated between Required Trainings and Non-Required Trainings. In this Initial Application example, once one of these required trainings is marked complete it will show a green check mark in the status column. Most of your work will be in the Required Trainings tab.
2) The Status column will indicate if the Initial Application's trainings are incomplete, or complete with a green check mark.
3) In the Actions column, incomplete trainings can be marked complete, or waived; and complete trainings can be edited. Click into the appropriate action for your case and follow the prompts. If you need a training entry deleted, please contact Binti Support.
Renewal Application Training Log
This is an example of how your Applicant's Training Logs would look after the Initial Application has been approved. The numbers indicated in the screenshot are described below. (Click here for an example of the Initial Application Training Log.)
1) Trainings are separated between Required Trainings and Non-Required Trainings. In this Renewal Application example, once one of these required trainings is marked complete it will show a green check mark in the status column. Most of your work will be in the Required Trainings tab.
2) The Due Date and Status column will indicate if the Renewal Application's trainings are up to date. These columns include the incomplete status with their due dates highlighted in red, the complete status indicated by a green check mark, and an Expired status for CPR/First Aid certificates whose expiration dates will appear yellow if it is expiring soon, or red if it is expired.
3) In the Actions column, incomplete trainings can be marked complete, or waived; and complete trainings can be edited. Click into the appropriate action for your case and follow the prompts. If you need a training entry deleted, please contact Binti Support.
How do I enter overdue trainings?
If a family has any amount of overdue trainings, click into their training logs from their application dashboard, or if you are already in their application you can click the Training Logs button. For more help getting to the applicant's training logs click here: Applicant Training Logs (click full screen for clearer view of the demo).
The training hours I just entered are being applied to the wrong year. How do I correct this?
This question is a follow up to the question answered above. Binti is currently designed to apply training entries to the most overdue training requirements first. For example, if you are attempting to record the current year's renewal hours when the previous year's renewal hours are not yet logged or waived, the current year's renewal training entries will be applied to the previous year's requirements by default. And then you will still be left with incomplete renewal trainings for the current year.
To resolve this, please contact Binti Support so we can delete the trainings that were applied to the wrong year. After we delete the trainings, the overdue years' trainings need to be marked complete, or waived. Once the previous year's trainings are marked complete or waived, you can enter the current year's trainings and they will be applied to the correct year.
I need to approve a renewal but there is no green check mark. It is still showing trainings are overdue, or due.
Overdue: If the Application Dashboard or Training Logs are showing that trainings are overdue, please log the trainings by follow ing the instructions in the video here: How do I enter overdue trainings?
Due: If the Application Dashboard or Training Logs are showing that trainings are due, this is referring only to the trainings being due by the due date indicated. This message will not prevent you from approving the application. Only an overdue warning will block approval.
I uploaded the training certificates, but it is still showing overdue or due training hours.
Uploading certificates of completed trainings does not mark trainings complete in the training log. The Documents tab houses these forms, but is not connected with the Training Logs. Please click the following hyperlink to learn how to log trainings: How do I enter training hours in Binti?
How do I add a training track?
If you see "Add Training Track" in the dashboard, click the hyperlink to take you to Edit Application. Scroll down to "Applicant training track" > select the training curriculum for applicant > Update Application. If you are unsure what the correct training track is, contact your supervisor.
